Our Heritage

Baked with intention.
Served with pride.

Morgan Vineyard began in 1998 as a modest family kitchen operation in Wright Township — one oven, one vision, and a stubborn belief that the best bread is made slowly, with ingredients you can actually pronounce.

Today, we've grown into a full-scale artisan bakery and specialty grocer, but our philosophy hasn't changed. Every loaf is hand-shaped. Every pastry is laminated from scratch. Every product on our shelves is chosen because we'd serve it to our own table.

We source locally whenever possible — Michigan mill flour, regional dairy, seasonal fruit from orchards within an hour's drive. The result is food that tastes like this place: grounded, honest, and unmistakably good.

Seasonal Pastries

Butter-laminated croissants, fruit-filled danishes, and holiday stollen — rotating with the Michigan seasons. Some days you'll find almond croissants; others, rosemary olive oil cake.

The Craft

The details
make the difference

01

Source

Michigan mill flour, local dairy, seasonal fruit from orchards within an hour. We visit our suppliers. We know their names.

02

Ferment

Forty-eight-hour cold fermentation. No shortcuts. This is what develops the complex flavor and the open, irregular crumb structure we're known for.

03

Shape

Every loaf is hand-shaped by our bakers before its final proof. No machines. No assembly lines. Just skilled hands and years of practice.

04

Bake

Stone deck ovens at precisely the right temperature. Baked in small batches, twice daily — 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. — so it's always fresh.

The best bread doesn't announce itself. It simply arrives at your table and makes everything else feel ordinary.

— Morgan Vineyard, since 1998
